When a young Sister confides her suspicions to the principal - that Flynn is paying too much attention to a young male student - Sister Aloysius sets out to destroy Flynn, with devastating consequences.

State of Play (12)

25 February 2010

State of Play Praised as "one of the most intelligent blockbusters to come out of Hollywood in a long time" (Amazon reviewer) this is a gripping political thriller - adapted from a BBC mini-series.

Russell Crowe plays a Washington newspaper reporter who begins to investigate a series of murders, and finds himself drawn into a world of conspiracy and intrigue.

With a cast overflowing with Oscar-winners, including Helen Mirren and Ben Affleck, State of Play will be a thrilling watch.

Star Trek (12)

21 January 2010

Star Trek Part prequel, part reboot, this new entry to the Star Trek franchise was released in 2009 to huge acclaim from critics and fans alike. It traces the story of how the legendary Captain Kirk and his crew mates find their way onto the Enterprise for their first mission.

There's plenty to please (and puzzle) Trekkers - but it's also immensely accessible and enjoyable for those unconvinced by sci-fi, with themes of revenge, heroism , ethics and much more.

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas (12)

17 December 2009

What is Reel Life?

The Reel Life Film Club is a group of film fans in Oxford who meet each month to watch films and discuss them together.

Films often raise some of the big questions of life and get us thinking about serious issues - philosophical, moral and spiritual. We like to explore the way films deal with these issues and what, if anything, they can teach us about real life.

Although many of us are Christians we welcome anyone to join these discussions regardless of beliefs or background.

Snacks and drinks are available during the film. Afterwards, over tea and coffee, we discuss the film and some of the issues it raises.

If you are interested in joining us just get in touch!

When does Reel Life take place?
